President Trump Welcomes Families of Attacked National Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

President Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.

He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a attack on last Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

The president said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president told journalists. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Mourners came together over the weekend at a local school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the AP.

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a MP with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had bravery,” the governor informed the crowd at the service. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
